Hi,
We are in California and have experience with 3 different centers. Two are in southern California and one is in northern California. We went to one in So Cal when the girls were first diagnosed last year, but felt the doctor was not as knowledgeable or aggressive as we would like. We now actually go to two different centers....it's a long story, but basically we live in the middle of nowhere in the mojave desert and nothing is close to us. Our 'main' doctor is about 7 hours away and wanted to see the girls in clinic every other month. He feels it is best to catch things as early as possible and to be preventative with care. We agree with this philosophy, however, it was just too far to make it feasible, so we switch every other month between that clinic and one that is only 3 hours away. The doctors at the 2 clinics share information and so far it has worked out ok. The doctor at the closer clinic is not as up on the latest research, ect. that is why we do not want to just go to that clinic. We like the 'far away' doctor the best. I'm not sure if this is the best arrangement or not, but it's what we are doing at least for now.
Please send me a private message ( I know that is an option on this site, but I'm not really sure how it works!) and I will give you the specifics (names, etc.). I don't want to offend anyone who may be reading this and uses and likes the clinic(s)/doctor(s) that we don't!
Where are you thinking of moving to in California?
