hey guys

I just wanted to ask an opinion...sort of. I just had a dr appt like two weeks or so ago, and everything was ok (not spectacular) but no decline or anything. My culture seemed ok too...but for the past few days, I've been feeling kind of feverish and very tired (more than the usual college student sleep deprivation ). My cough is usually dry and when it isn't, it's dark yellow (and tastes really bad...sorry, gross, I know). I want to make another appt, but every time this happens, when I get to the dr, my lungs sound clear and I can't cough the same crap up...anyone else have this problem or know what to do?

That happens to me all the time. I go in complaining of how I've been feeling and then my PFTs are 80-90%. It's nice to have such high PFTs, but if I still feel like crap, it's hard to enjoy it.

My problem for both myself and you is... I don't have a single piece of advice for you. I just happen to be lucky in the doctor I just started seeing (earlier this year I switched to adult clinic, and therefore had to switch docs). When I complain about how I'm feeling, he'll say the usual "Well your PFTs are really good" but then he adds (and this is why I love him!) "But if you're not feeling well, that's what matters most." Then he'll talk about what options we have. If you can find a doctor that listens to you over what some numbers on a piece of paper say (and a doc that will listen when your PFTs are high is very rare, unfortunately), that'll help you. I know that's hardly help at all, because most dcctors don't work that way, but that's the only suggestion I have. Before I started seeing McArdle, I just had to settle for feeling crappy all the time because I had good PFTs. I don't feel much better now, but it's been a few years. And it's not for McArdle's lack of trying.

I'm sorry that whole thing was pretty useless. Hah.
