before you count on being able to donate them you shoudl check and see if anyone woudl want them. I inquired into 3 places and never got a call back and I dont know but I suspect it was because of our CF status, having done PGD it may be differnet for you. I have not decided what we will do with our should we have any left overs and have not seriously looked into it but you can check out the snowflakes program it is long standing and reputable.

We have a son with CF and underwent PGD for our second child. We had no embryos left and the one that was affected with CF never made it in the petri dish. BUT we had filled out a form about what to do with CF affected embryos- research or discard. At some clinics, you can just pay to have them stored in case a cure ect...Again we had none left so we did not have to make any tough decisions. We did however get a healthy baby boy.

Looks like you got the info on PGD, I have some more on my website www.cysticfibrosismaleinfertility.com if you need some further information.

We decided we would donate our embryo's to research. We couldn't deal with the idea of donating our embryo's to another family. I did donate my eggs this last year, but we just couldn't part with a child that was a part of both of us (hope that makes sense).
However, there are a handful of people on my triplet website who have donated their remaining embryo's to other families who are desperate to have a baby (want to be pregnant versus adoption) and their have been successes and failures. Your clinic should give you 3 options, donate to research, donate to a family, have them destroyed.
