Rash

Hello,

My son with cf has developed a rash on his chest/back/upper leg that looks like little red bumps with redness around the bump on the skin. I think it is itchy for him but he is only 18 months old so hard to tell. He is just coming off a cold but didn't have a fever. I am not sure if CF realted or just a virus? Thanks. Paula

I am not sure if it's CF related either but I would say it is definately time to take a trip to the paediatrician. A rash that has spread to such large parts of the body is usually a reaction to something or a symptom of something so my advice is to have it checked out.

I remember when I was around that age and they didn't know what was wrong with me, I had all kinds of rash action goin on, the stories were horrible. I looked like I had some rare rainforest disease. But as soon as they started treating me for CF with enzymes and my moms breastmilk and stuff, it went away.


Are you breast feeding? I was breastfed till around 3, and while I know that sounds retardedly long to many, I think that is what helped me to flourish like I generally am now.

Sometimes rash especially if they are itchy are like a fungus on the skin. I like using tea tree oil creme. It always works. You can buy tea tree oil in any health food store or walmart too. Tea Tree oil is antifungal and antiviral.
