Well, I can empathize with the no weight gain issue. Emilyis is stalled, and even slipping backward again, even with the g-tube. She will be 2 on Friday. We have not had many of the issues that you guys are describing on this thread, but I feel that we are all looking for the same answers. I was surprised to see the mentions of zinc...just becasue it is something that has never been mentioned to us. And, that Heather said some cf bugs can cause lack of weight gain...also never mentioned. It makes me wonder. I'll be taking these questions to clinic next week.

How have Aiden's stools looked? Are you confident that he is absorbing? Once, a long time ago, a change in enzyme brands gave Emily a nice bump in weight, for a while. Maybe a new enzyme routine will jump start things? There are always so many questions. I wish I had some answers and advice for you, but, I don't. Just an understanding nod and a cyber-hug.

Heather - I"ll be thinkig about you guys tomorrow!

Hi Elizabeth,
When my daughter started having insufficiency on Creon, they switched her to a combo of Creon and Pancrecarb, and that has helped considerably. We still deal with slow weight gain, but that (as well as increasing her Prevacid) has worked.
