Have you ever thought that you have asthma along with CF? I ask because Im always getting short of breath, and its not because of my CF but because since birth I have had asthma and CF. Im really on more asthma meds then I am on CF meds. Just an idea, hope it helps

Did the Dr's. ever check for aspergillis (fungus) in you lungs? My daughter has had a problem with that and regular antibiotics they use for a clean out don't help. Also, did they ever consider doing a Bronc to get a culture of what is growing in your lungs? Maybe there is something there that a regular x-ray doesn't see. Any way I hope your feeling better soon.

This is also a terrible time of year w/ mold spores, things budding, etc. I notice I've been way more congested since I spent a whole day outside at a track meet and assume it must be allergy type stuff? It could be the return of good ole humidity--that is about the only thing I don't like about Spring/Summer.

I get really short of breath, for no reason, when the weather changes quickly (from mid 80s to low 50s...which happens alot in NC and usually within the same day), humdity and/or when the pollin is really heavy in the air. This year has been the worse for me, but I noticed the older I get the more it bothers me.

Because TOBI made me short of breath (SOB), I discontinued use of it & could tell a huge difference after I quit.
I was on it for about 2-3 years before I had SOB from it. I started to notice a pattern of the shortness of breath being worse when I was on the "on" month of TOBI.
If you do do TOBI one month on, one month off, try to see if you notice a difference in the SOB during the month when you're not doing the TOBI.
We all react to things differently, hopefully, if you're on TOBI, it's not causing the SOB, because I think it is a good medication, it just doesn't work for me.
I hope you get to feeling better

Hi,
maybe your heart should be checked too. Heartproblems or an infection can also cause problems with breathing.
Good luck
