Really silly IVF question

So I have the most evil moster cramps from hell (so I'm worried about endo - joy).. because of that I'm on Seasonale BC pills.

Since we're dealing with CBAVD, there's no reason for us to have ever TTCed the normal way and I love my "only 4 periods a year" existance.

When the heck do I go off my pills? Were any of you in that situation? (I know I'll have to talk with the IVF clinic about it anyway, but I wanna know now!)

not silly at all. actually my clinjic would have you go on bc pills for w month or two before hand to get cycle regulated so you may be able to stay on them but maybe not seasonale.

No not silly. My clinic's protocol was also to be on BCP's so that my period would start on a designated day (or a window of a few days). However, I did stop my "regular" BCP's about 3 months before our IVF.

I did this because I remember reading somewhere that it's advised that you stop a few months before you try to conceive because of how BC's deplete folic acid and some other things that are needed for healthy baby growth. I also started my prenatal vitamins at this time, and extra folic acid (got an Rx from my family doctor).

The BCP's they use for an IVF cycle are a very very low dose (for me it was DESOGEN) and not at all intended to prevent a pregnancy, but that's not really an issue for "us" <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I didn't know you were on this path. I'm very excited for you!!! Please keep us posted!!!
