Thank you everyone your comments are so helpful and it was the surgeon and the GI team the was fighting against corrective surgery. I would have never asked for something to be done except in his situation it happens so often and it comes out and the Docs cant even reduce it and they still dont seem to want to do anything except keep the stools soft thats what they keep saying well at this point they are like water and it is stuck out. I am waiting on GI to get feedback from him if Ii goes no where then we will be heading to the hospital this afternoon.

Oh your poor son. He must be so, so miserable. This is a common complication of cf- so common that rectal prolapse in any child will almost always trigger testing for cf regardless of any other symptoms (or lack thereof.) I'm so sorry he's been through so much and not been helped yet. "He/she's just constipated' or 'just give him this or that for his/her stools' or some variation of such is something so many of us have heard... and there is so much more to dealing with the digestive issues our children deal with. In Emily's case, she was a late dx (age 7) and years of frequent, very bulky stools led to her problems. After starting Creon, we see this SO much less often and even when we do, only a small amount slips out.

I hope by now he's getting the help he needs. Please keep us updated- and welcome to the site.

If it is staying out I would defiantly call and make an appointment. Graycie's dr said if it hadn't went in by itself they would have had surgery to fix it. What they are telling you makes no sense at all. The first time it happened to Graycie it only stayed out for alittle while and this is when she was hospitalized with C Diff. It would pop out and go back in when she strained. She wasn't constipated but her bowels were swollen due to c diff and psedomemberous colitis. Your poor child should not have to be in pain and wait until they want to see him. I hope you don't take no for an answer and get this taken care of for him.

Thank you all so much..This has been a very frusterating journey not just for his dad and I but also him, besides the pain the poor little guy cant even play or even eat like a noral child because it is too painful to sit. We did end up in the ER last where his surgeon met us, I think he finally saw the concern and frusteration and I am not sure what is going to happen but he promised to meet with GI and then they will all call me with a solution. He is having a g tube placed so I am asking them to do both surgerys at the same time but I dont know what the end result is going to be.
