Hey you guys. I am new to this. I am married to a wonderful man who is 30 w/CF. We have been married for 8 wonderful years. He has been and out of the hospital a couple times since we have been married but this past year 2009 he has been sick a lot. His lung function got down to 24% and his weight down to 112 lbs. Then after getting back on his feet a little bit he got c-diff. That really kicked his butt. Well his last doctors visit his lung function was at 30% and he had gained some weight but they said they were concerned about his bone scan and hormone levels and referred him to an Endocrinologist. So we have an appointment Wednesday but I have no idea what to expect. Has anyone been referred to an Endocrinologist because of their bone scan results and hormone levels?

Thanks for listening!

Yes-My endo does take a look at my dexa scan results and makes recommendations. She as well keeps a close eye on various levels. However, the primary reason I was referred to an endo was for CF related diabetes.

I am at my Endo in Orlando as I am writingthis... I am on testosterone, getting growth hormones and may have developed CFRD and now have to take insulin. I am sure your appointment will result in getting blood work, glucose tolerance testing. Once he gets the results I am sure your husband will be given at least something for osteoperosis, if the dex a scan was bad
