Refusing Enzymes

So I have noticed that my daughter is now getting mad when I attempt to give her enzymes prior to breastfeeding. I mean she will not open up her mouth; she'll turn her head, and get her body all stiff. I know she needs to eat b/c she is so ready to attack me even with my shirt on. What is with this behavior? Will it pass? Any advice? She will be 4 months old on 11/23.

maybe you could let her drink a bit first, then pop in the enzymes. I bottlefed, but I would pour the enzyme beads into a little med cup, wet my pinky finger and dip it in so some stuck. Then I'd wipe them in his inner cheek and hurry up and stick the bottle back in there. Repeat until done <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I saw your other post about the irritation, but I didn't breastfeed so I'm no help there.

DS didn't like applesauce, he also didn't like pregestimil and did the same thing -- turned away and arched his back. I guess I'd either try switching to a different fruit -- peaches, pears or bananas. Try letting her drink a little first or do what amber suggested.

Does she do okay with her feeding otherwise? No spitting up or stomach upset? I know they thought DS also had reflux and we sometimes thought he associated eating with stomach upset.

Ella does have reflux which we fought to have her ped percribe Zantac. Anyways we now see a pedi GI and things are ok. She is now on Nexium in the AM and still takes the Zantac at night. She is still a major spitter. It does not seem like the reflux causes any discomfort while eating. When was still very tiny she would have choaking/not breathing issues when burping after eating. We have not had one of those in about a month now. So I hope that means she is growing out of this.
