*Jumps up and down* Me! Me! Me!

The first bout of it lasted almost a year (gah!) and the second bout started getting cranked up when I was on Vanco, and I had them stop it (long story, not my cf hospital, and I didn't need it )and the symptoms subsided in a few days. The first bout was so bad that I freaked when I felt it coming on again for round 2 and called my cf doctor on his cell phone (who was not affiliated with the hospital I had ended up in, but I didn't know what else to do).

The first time I had it though, it was so bad that I could hardly stand up and find/grope my way to the bathroom, and was accompanied by IV fever (weee). The bonus fun was they actually came up to my room after my emergency admit because of the symptoms and the nurse wanted me to go "blow" while I had the soaring fever and couldn't stand up! I tried to give them my dirtiest look (but they wouldn't stand still- lol) and told them "Heck no! I can't (you idiots)."

I'm glad you figured it out- maybe they can find you some alternatives for next time!

Oddly (and thankfully) enough, the Tobi does't do me that way (it has its own set of issues *rolls eyes*). If I ever have to take it again, I will be stocking up on the magnesium, that's for sure!

Never had it from Tobra, but from Gentamicin. Sounds similar, though. Be careful, inner ear damage can be permanent and you dont always fully recover (mine got better to a point, but I still can't balance in the dark and my vision bounces when i drive and its been over 8 years).
