I just got a few cases of Resource nutritional drink it has zero fat but 9 grams of protein...Do you give enzymes when you drink it? I should know this but looking for what you do...Maggie has been drinking them, they are juice boxes and I give her enzymes but I am not sure if they are needed...

Thanks!

I would keep giving enzymes. I know fatty food contibute to the greasy stools, but the enzymes help digest the proteins as well. Nine grams is quite a bit so she will need the protease component of the enzymes.
Do the resource juice boxes taste good? Marty drinks scandishakes and they have so much garbage in them!! I couldn't believe it!!! They have transfats!!!! 3 grams per serving! He is needing to increase his calories and currently is drinking 3 scandi shakes per day.
Hope you and your daughter are doing well and best wishes on the whole enzyme thing. I know it is a relief when you hand over a juice box and don't have to get the enzymes!!

Thank you for your response. That's what I thought. The resource drinks taste just ok, but she'll drink them if she is thirsty. Maggie tends to lose weight in the winter so I figure we'lld try the drinks..They have alot of sugar in them.

I'd have enzymes too with the protein containing stuff. Just maybe not so many. I used to get a bit worried about how much 'junk' was in the supplements but then, I personally believe that it's not so much what you DO eat, it's what you DON'T eat. If they were a persons sole source of calories it wouldn't be that great but they only add calories. Alot of the fat probably doesn't even get get in to your bloodstream anyway tbh... if they're in addition to normal food then I think the benefits deffo outweigh the sugar and fat concern. XXX

While Lipase in enzymes helps to digest fats, I believe the protease helps with protein. So probably enzymes, but not as many as something with more fat... 'Course I'm just guessing. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
