If you want to try new things try the "frequencer".

which model numbers are you comparing?

My daughter has the Hill-Rom 104, my son has the (I think newest) Respirtech... I don't have both machines in the house a the same time, but I thought the Respirtech was quieter....not that it really matters much... but I am more fond of the Respirtech... it just has a better built feel to the whole machine.

Other reasons I like the Respirtech over the Hill-Rom... I like the shape better, the carrying case is wayyyy better built and the hoses seem to have a much better feel to them, not to mention there is no "popping off". One thing I do not care for with the Respirtech is the beeping every 10 minutes... while this might be helpful for a mom with young ones, it's annoying for older people...they say they are removing that from the next model.

Both companies seem to be very equal in their customer service. The Respirtech machine costs a little bit less and I think they processed the claim quite a bit faster than Hill-Rom did... but by and large both kids are happy with each machine.

Check out the blog of NoExcuses...she has a lot of information about the Respirtech vest.

Well, first of all, let me say congrats on getting a vest. Second of all, I think any vest is better than no vest. Third of all, in my opinion, I like the Respirtech's vest. But I think it all depends on the individual and what they like and what does best for them.

I do like the locking clips of the Respirtech Incourage vest. I like it because on my old vest, the hoses would constantly pop out and it was just a lot of work constantly checking on them and re attaching. With the Incourage, I don't worry about that anymore. I also like the fit of the vest better and I like how it just runs and I don't have to worry about settings.

Best of luck in your Vest Quest!

Oh, one more thing. It's nice being able to actually pick up the Incourage vest. I hated how I didn't have choices with my other vest, because it was too heavy to pick up. I sometimes get tired of being "tied" to room room for treatment time, so it's nice being able to move my vest around if I need to.
