My son has the RespirTech and my daughter has the Hill-Rom.

I would have to say that yes, the RespirTech is a little louder and there is that "beeping" issue. They told me that the newest (or next) model of the RespirTech was going to allow users to take off the beeping noise if wanted - don't know if/when that model comes out or already has. The beeping is intended for the child user - I think the idea is the mom/dad could be off doing other things, but still be informed as to where the machine was in it's cycle - then you could come to the child to assist with coughing when the machine stops to allow that. For an older kid/adult user, it's just noise :)

I do still prefer the RespirTech machine over the Hill-Rom just because of the hose design and the carrying case - they are far better in that respect, it also seems that the vest, as well as the entire machine just seems to be better built - heavier or more quality... hard to put my finger on... it's just kind of seems like the hoses on the Hill-Rom are thin and have a "cheap" feeling to them. But over all I'd have to say having either machine is far better than not having a machine at all, and both companies have excellent customer service.

Good luck with your decision!

DS has the Hill-Rom 104 and we don't have any issues. Great customer service and the newest duffle bag has wheels with telescoping handle. They sent us a new one after I complained one of the inside pockets frayed.

Here's what is so confusing to me. Shortly after DS got the vest, I wondered if we'd made a terrible decision based on a blog by someone here who'd gone to the U of MN to see Dr. Warwick for a second opinion. Yet all of the U of MN patients I know, all have the Hill-Rom vest. Both I understand are excellent machines, but I spent months thinking I was a terrible parent and had made a horrible choice...

We have the Incourage and we love it. It's so easy to use. The support from the company is great too. We started Ellie when she was about 9 months old. She's in the size 16. It's great<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I emailed Dr. Warwick. I recieved a reply from him the next day. He suggested that I contact the clinic and ask them for the Respirtech vest.

Instead I called the Respitory Therapist and told her to hold off on ordering the Hill-Rom vest. She offered to have us come in and meet with her to try on both vests to see which we like better. She also told me to print off any information I want to discuss with her and any questions I have. We are going to see her on 12/30. I am very appreciative of her attitude and willingness to show us both options and let us decide.

Thank you all for your postings.
