Ridiculous or justified?

Sounds fine to me, too . When my daughter (no cf- that would be me ) is sick and has to go to the pediatrician, I ask for an empty room to wait in, so I don't have to wait with the "sick kids", especially in cold and flu season. They are always obliging if possible (and usually is) .

Since I don't really do mornings-lol, I also ask for the first appointment after lunch. That way, there is usually no one ahead of us (I do this for my dr. appts. too). Up until this last year, I also took her in in her stroller- she couldn't get down and run around and touch stuff that way. I'd give her a snack, or some crayons, etc. and she was happy.

When I take my son for a well visit I ask if I can have the first appointment of the day so I do not have to wait in the waiting room very long. If they cannot do that, Then I wait in the hall and they come out for us when it is his turn.

One of the reasons we stopped going to the local CF clinic was because we'd schedule the first appointment of the day -- arrive to a crowded waiting room. Either stand in the hall (they were supposed to put us in a room right away). Then we'd cool our heels in an exam room for 45 to 90 minutes until we saw anyone.

At regular clinic appointments I frequently use the hand sanitizer foam and remind DS to keep his fingers out of his nose mouth.

At my own appointments, if there's a huge delay, I'll get up and ask -- I was once forgotten at the clinic. Sat in the waiting room for well over an hour while drop-ins were being seen before me. Argh!

I think you were justified. When I take Jazmine to her Pediatrician, they try to accomodate me so I am not sitting exposed to whatever is floating around.

I might be lucky in that aspect since her Peditrician was my local doctor when I was a kid & still keeps up with CF to this day.

Think about it......most people go to the doctors because they are SICK. No matter if its "hurtful" to a CFer, you dont want more complications then needed.

I think you handled it great. Were patient at first & then inquired with legitimate concerns.

Good Job!
