I think everyone covered all the bases but I did not see this one and I've heard it constantly, I am one of 4 children and the only one with CF "God only gives you what he thinks you can handle". You are the strongest of the 4... I get absolutely crazy when I hear that and have heard it most my life from family members. I have learned to just walk away, I used to go off on a rant but now I just do not answer anymore. Another one is are you still sick with the cough? maybe you shd see a specialist? I hope your not going to get me sick. Welcome to the site. I am not sure how long I've been a mbr? I only read for awhile never posted. Then started posting (came of of my shell lol) started askg questions and have learned alot from so many, it has been a very helpful place for me. Pat-56/CF

I do not have CF, but my fiance does and I have to say that the thing I hate hearing the most from people who have been sick is "I feel your pain." Really? In a week your "pain" will be gone, while we live with CF every day...forever! There is absolutely no comparison and I feel like people try to minimize CF, or "one-up" us by telling us how sick they've been lately and spent time in the hospital for this or that. It's no contest so I don't understand why people feel the need to try and make us feel sorry for them?
