Roto Virus anyone?

My daughter has been struggling with lower pfts for months and we finally had a bronch which turned nothing up except a bit of staph and roto virus. The docs think the roto virus has just been wrecking havoc but that there's nothing to do but hope it clears up. Has anyone else dealt with this particular issue? There's not treatment since its a virus- except for lots of cpt, hs and pulmozyme. Any BTDT out there? Thanks.

I suspect that DS had rotavirus last month. Started with the typical runny nose, which I thought was a head cold with a low grade fever and loose stools and then vomiting. Took about a week before the fever went away, stools were normal and he could drink milk without hurling. During that time I was doing a lot of googling on rotavirus.

IMO, I would ask for an infectious disease (ID) specialist consult. Are they treating the staph at all -- being there are symptoms, maybe that would be helpful as well.

Yes they are treating the Staph with Bactrim- she seems better but still hasn't got her pfts up, especially the small airways. The feeling is that the virus just take forever to clear and then there is a residual trauma in the airways that may or may not clear up over time.
