Yes I had Red Mans syndrome too. I also slowed down the dose and eventually got used to it. Insurance always pays for the pump for me. It is probably worth looking into as long as the doctor suggests it. I would ask when you go for your blood draw. Then you could probably call the IV company and just get it switched.
I had one that bled and it didnt really stop, every time I moved. (I dont mean to scare you, but its rare like someone else said). The reason it bled was because the stat lock (holds the PICC to your skin, instead of stitches) had gotten bloody when they put it in, so it never stuck to my skin properly. The home nurse was at my house eveyr day for like 4 or 5 days changing the dressing. Then eventually one of the nurses was able to remove the statlock and I was fine for the rest of the time.
