Rough Day...

So about two weeks ago I was feeling really icky, and so I called my doctor and was put on Cipro to clear out any PA that was going wild. Well it did the trick, I felt amazing, I'm finishing up cipro now, so I'm still on it. But the past few days have been rough I thought at first just allergies because my sinuses were acting up, but then I started coughing A LOT, much more than normal, I had a few fevers (never good) and my joints are aching like crazy.

So today I just feel SICK. I am coughing every other second, and it's hard-er than normal to breathe, and again my joints are just achy. I know it will probably pass, but on these rough days, what do you guys do? Take it easy, up the water? (already drinking about 4 -5 glasses of water a day) OTC meds? Allergy stuff? Call the doc?

I guess ultimately how do you handle your rough days?

Since you are just finishing up Cipro I would call the doc and let him know you have taken a turn for the worst. In my experience if Cipro does not do the trick then it is time for tune up. I would take it easy, relax, eat as much as you can and drink as much. But for sure call doc since you have just finished or about to finish cipro and now feel like ^%^&.

Feel better and hang in there!

first off i don't beat myself up. its ok to have a rough day.
and i keep the worst case scenario in perspective.
worst case scenario?-i go on ivs..ok, I can handle that. it sucks but i know i'll get through it. ivs aren't the end of the world, right?

so-coughing, congestion...i bring out my defense arsenal.
i use a neti pot and rinse my sinuses 2x per day. i get lemons, garlic, apples, and carrots and juice them-2-3 times per day. 3 therapies a day. take airborne or extra vit c. i stay home.

i give it 4-5 days. if its not working, its just not working. i week of oral abx...if its still not working its tune up time.

Could be something simple(like anything's simple!), like the flu. Fever, coughing, aches... Our whole family had it last week, including the CF'er. The doc gave her Cipro anyway after she felt better because he said the illness could have 'stirred things up' so he wanted to be on the safe side. Hope that's all it is...feel better soon.
