saying goodbye to your dog

I just read the off topic posts today, I don't check them that often but wanted to tell you that you're in my thoughts. Our lab that we had had for 8 years was just put down Feb 11th due to lymphomia.
Like Julie said, it amazed me at how quickly and peacefully he went. It was hard and there are still moments when we see one of his toys or something reminds us of him & it's a little emotional. But like you said, it's for the best, we don't want them to have to suffer.
I hope you're doing as good as can be expected. We get so attached to our pets<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">
Hang in there--hope you're doing OK.

Hi, Kate: I am so sorry to hear about your dog. I lost a very special Shih Tzu to renal failure just two years ago, and I still think about her everyday! Their love is so unconditional, and they strive so hard to please their people. I think there is a very special bond between people and dogs -- an emotional/psychic -- bond, if you know what I mean. Watch your dog closely for pain. Until then, let her know you love her. She will let you know when it's time. Until then, know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Linda
