Scamming people using CF???

Hi! I loved your video the other night...you are a beautiful, strong woman! I applaude you for all your efforts!

On to your ??. I have been fund raising for CFF for about3 3/4 years now. I am amazed at how many people can say NO, I don't want to donate. I do personal letters every spring...they get a nice response. I go face to face with people...I have decided that about 1 out of 10 will donate. NO KIDDING. Everyone seems leary of charities. I keep doing it though, even if I only get one person out of ten to donate...I'm doing something...my motto is...every dollar COUNTS!!!! And the best part is...I share Zoe's story..the CF story. I tell them all about CF, if they choose to NOT donate...well they will have to live with knowing what CF is and how it affects people. We have found some great sponsors...just by talking. I had a few people donate online, but not a ton. People respond to people, to stories, to pictures. Like was said a long time ago by a friend...young kids in pics work wonders for donations. I know how CF affects adults worse than it can kids, but...it is a fact of life...people respond to children.

We are a bonafide non profit and we had to have our attorny fax Paypal paperwork and our account was "frozen" until just recently when our paperwork was cleared... We are in the process of registerng with Guidestar, but we are currently doing our 990 and won't have that for a few weeks...

We are in the process of putting together our first dinner and auction and we do definately have other fundraising going on... We developed "Power of 1 Person" as a challenge to ourselves... At first we were going to do it as a MLM format, where we each would collect one dollar from 10 people and then they would collect one dollar from 10 people... but we are actually having a hard time getting people to motivate their 10 people... LOL!!! So we are actually going door to door!!! and that is been great!!! It is amazing how many people don't know anything about CF...

LAstly... we do have CF and that is why we know what we go through... I know what my parents went through and I have seen the struggles of others... I was within months of losing my house after a battle with a bad infection, which I couldn't work because of... I looked eerywhere for assistance programs and there was nothing... Anyone who knows anything about CF, knows stress will kill us faster than anything... so needlesstosay, I ended even sicker and sicker and finally by the grace of God the money came from someone who had heard my story... After that Breathe 4 Tomorrow Foundation was founded... we have helped numerous family this last year while their children were hopitalized... we have turned on power, we have helped with medication costs, we have given away some vests... and that is just the beginning... It is in our bylaws that NO DONATION money will go to neither of the founders or our families... and neither of us our paid postions either... We do all of this out of love for our CF communtiy... honestly, knowing that even one of our fellow CFers is breathing easier because of us, that is worth it...
