Frog's post is seconded. I have heard it to be a hoax, and believe it is. It's a hoot what winds up on YouTube. At least that's much more engaging than the various EAS test captures on there.

its a huge load of bull, i didn't really believe it to begin with but i tried it today had several friends bring their cell phones, i had 12 put around popping corn and it didn't work, but i did submit it to mythbusters just to see adam and jamie put a million cell phones around popcorn trying to make it pop lol. if you want something like this that does work, put an incondecent light bulb in a cup of water and put it in the microwave, the lightbulb will light up
