scoliosis?

Hey guys


So there are numerous posts about back pain with coughing...I thought that's what my back pain was from, but I think it's from scoliosis. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> Supposedly it's fairly common in ppl with chronic illness and can affect cardio-pulmonary function...has anyone else had this problem?

Hi Erin,
Yeah I have that too. I found out in 7th grade. (I'm 27 now, gosh, getting old!)
My dr's do x-rays, etc. and the physical therapist keeps an eye on it. The only thing they tell me is to let them know if I'm having more back pain than normal. I get massages regularly and that helps a ton, I think it also helps with my breathing and opening up my chest by working on my muscles. You might want to try that if you need some comfort, not to mention, good ol relaxation.

Yes i have scoliosis also. i found out when i was about 12. You cant tell i have it unless i take my shirt off and i bend over but i think that may also be why my back hurts so much. What helps everyones back pain??

I have scoliosis as well. My brother and niece have it too. My neice had to get surgury for her's. Although I'm the only one with CF. Eva

yep i guess i can say that im gonna join the club cuz i have scoliosis as well. I found out when i was 14 yippie...had to wear a brace but never wore it because it got me angry. Oh well...but yep thats life for ya.

I also have scoliosis, but don't have CF, my daughter does. I do know that scoliosis is genetic, like CF. My question is how many of you also have a family history of scoliosis....is this just a coincidence? And, has your CF been affected by your scoliosis? I would like to know since my daughter may get this from me as well. Any response is welcome...happy holidays to you all!!!<img src="i/expressions/rose.gif" border="0">
