Sean's in...

Ok, so on Sunday evening, Sean's hockey team was playing in the championship game of a local tournament. Shortly after the game began, on Sean's 2nd shift, he was the unfortunate recipient of a VERY cheap shot into the boards. Sean's shoulder was just above the edge of the boards which is exactly where is humerus (upper arm bone) was completely sheared in two and pushed inboard where it stayed so that when he fell to the ice, it jammed upward and broke his collar bone.

He had surgery yesterday afternoon where they reset and pinned his humerus back together. He is in a lot of pain to say the least and his CF doc is watching him VERY closely. Fortunately our "regular" hospital is also where his CF clinic is.

He'll be unable to do CPT for probably 3-4 weeks until the pins come out and the bones heal enough to handle vibration. Obviously, we're worried about that!

He doesn't have much of an appetite so until he starts to eat, he can't go home. He did get up and walk down the hallway tonight so he is making progress. Maybe we'll get out tomorrow.

Oh dear!!! I'm so sorry to hear this. I'm sure the injury is bad in and of itself and to add to that the CF and not being able to fully treat that. urgh. Please know I'll be praying for a speedy recovery and things back to normal as quickly as possible for Sean...

God Bless!

OMG!

Maybe therapy & exercise of some sort will help make up for not being able to do CPT until he is healed enough!

What a time of year to be restricted with CF care....

GOod Luck!

Goodness, I sure hope this heals quickly and that he's not in pain for much longer.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">
What about using the flutter or acapella for CPT?
