Emory/Egleston is now 100% for vests for all patients. Its still a pediatric clinic. However, they are currently re-organizing to establish adult specialists for the adult CFers. AFAIK they are continuing to use the same free-standing clinic but bringing in doctors who are familiar to the issues adults face.

They just got a new director for the CF center in January. He's VERY knowledgable and up to date. He follows M's case personally and thus far has refused to allow lower doctors to manage his care at all. He's VERY aggressive and encourages patient/family involvement. And, he's a Pulmo versus a GI, which is pertinent to your situation.

That said, I have heard excellent information about UNC and Duke especially irt adult needs for CF care. And, I don't know if you want to come to a center that is in overhaul versus one that is established with excellent adult patient care already.

Thanks for all the great advice! I think I might try UNC because I do want to go to a care center that is already well established in adult care. It will be over a five hour drive but if they can give me hope it will be well worth it.
