Send good thoughts to Emily

After having four or five double ear infections since the middle of September, Emily will be getting tubes in her ears tomorrow. I know that it's a routine thing... Isabelle had it done when she was just a few months older than Emily is now. But, anytime anesthesia is involved I get a little nervous. So, if you could, send us your good thoughts and prayers. She has been on antibiotics forever (augmentin and rocefin (The injected one) ) and has the terrible diarehhea/diaper rash to prove it. It's been a long haul these past few weeks. I think the antibiotics have just wreaked havoc with her stomach, and she's not keeping much down. So, of course her weight is not going up...and you all know the spiral that can lead to. I'll be relieved when this is over and hopefully we can get a break from the ear infections for a while. She is a very happy little girl despite all of this and is saying new words (Aaachy, as in yuky, is the latest) and taking steps on her own! Thanks for your kind thoughts!

Hi Tami,

I know hoe you must feel, as i have only been through one middle ear infection with my daughter and it was hell.
It caused her to have a febrile convulsion and she totaly passed out. She was then rushed to the er, by ambulance ans was admitted for i week.

We need to keep an eye on her ears, as it has a good chance of reacurring just like on your little one.

You are in my thoughts, and i hope she comes through ok.

Good luck!

Have you tried Acidophilus? Maggie would have a terrible problem with anti's diarhea, rash, yeast. Since I give her acidophilus she hasn't had a major problem with it. I would check with your CF doc.

TAke care

Rebecca(mom to Sammy 8 no CF and Maggie almost 4 with CF)
