I second going to the hospital. Severe acute abdominal pain needs to be evaluated. It could be a number of things...

Please let us know how it turns out...

Thanks for the responses. Shortly after I posted the message, he decided to go to the ER to get it checked out. 7 hours later and he is currently getting a CT scan of the stomach. The pain was getting really bad, I have actually never seen him in this much pain. So I am definitely glad that he went in.

I had to run home to take care of our four legged daughter. They gave him some pain meds, so I hope that it will help take the edge off the pain.

Thanks again for your responses...and keep your fingers crossed that this isn't something serious.

Good, I'm glad y'all went. Hopefully, it will be something easily fixed . I've had gallstones, a bile stone in my bile duct (ow, ow, ow- for 15 yrs, on and off), pancreatitis, adhesion obstructions, and a liver infection- all good reasons to go to the ER and have it checked out, IMHO (Not to scare you! I'm assuming you'll have had the tests run by the time you get back here- just giving my experience that bad stomach pain is a really good reason to go to the ER ). Let us know how he's doing when you can- will be praying .

Maybe its just too much air? I would try one of this tablets that "destroy" gas in your tummy first, because that can cause no harm. If it doesn´t work, you can start looking for more severe reasons.

its a good chance it is abdominal obstruction where the intestines are full of pheoces
i know its not a pleasent thing thing to talk about but the longer he leaves it the worser it will get.Get him to the hospital as soon as possible what they do is probably put him on some strong laxatives which cant be prescribed by the pharmacy

Here's an update...they did a CT Scan of his abdomen last night and weren't able to find anything (e.g. kidney stones, etc.), but they admitted him. They think that his spleen (which is really enlarged) is pressing up on other organs and causing the pain. We will have a consult today with surgery and IR to see about options for reducing the size of the spleen or removing it. He had a previous splenetic embolization about 12 years ago. I am not sure if they will do a surgery right now, so we are just waiting. He is still in a lot of pain. They are giving him demerol to control the pain, but even with that, he is still very uncomfortable. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers!
