I guess I should give some history. In January I had double pneumonia, was in hospital for 3 weeks on IV's and was sent home with 2 more weeks of antibiodics. I went back to clinic for a checkup, before the antibiodics were finished, and because there were still crackles she extended those antibiodics 2 more weeks. Since Monday I have had a lot of rumbling in my left side and an on again/off again pain when I breath deeply. I went back to clinic yesterday, was x-rayed and given an additional antibiodic. Now <i>today</i> for the past 3.5 hours I have had a real sharp pain in my right lung, it happens maybe once every half hour and is enough to stop me in my tracks and cry out. So I'm wondering what it could be since my x-ray didn't really show anything on my right lung. Any suggestions?

I don't know what it could be, but maybe you could get one of those icy hot pads and put on there to help with the pain, or take a hot bath. I know this isn't always practical, but it may help with your pain. I'm sorry you are going through this, I know lung pains really hurt. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

I also have sharp pains in my lungs. It happens when I first start getting an infection . I would call and talk with your doctor about it. I once had bad pain in my entire right lung and a week later it began bleeding severely and I was in the icu unit on a ventalaitor. I don't want to scare you, but you should get it checked out.
