Short of breath

I've just started on Pulmozyme and hypersal. I've been feeling much better since I started the treatments, but today my lungs seem very tight and almost clogged. I'm very new to the effects of CF on the lungs, so I'm not sure if this is normal. I can't seem to lie down on my back without really feeling like I can't breathe. My fingernails have a more purply tinge than they normally do. I did do my pulmozyme treatment followed by acapella this morning. Then when I started being short of breath I tried some albuterol, but nothing seems to be helping. Any advice on what I could do would be greatly appreciated. My O2 levels are always at 99 or 100. I have heard people on here talk about mucus plugs, but I'm not sure what that is. Thanks, Caitlin

Pulmozyme and hypersal can both cause bronchospasm. I would call your clinic's on-call line and speak with the pulmonologist on call. They may advise you to go ahead and do another albuterol treatment. I would also ask them about temporarily stopping the hypersal and pulmozyme and re-adding them one at a time to determine which one is causing the problem.
