I have been taking 800 mg of bactrim 3x a day for almost a week now. I have noticed that I have shortness of breath ( and heart is racing) that I didnt have before. It's not the same mucos stuck in there and i need to get it out . And does anyone else have reoccuring UTI . My PCP said it was probably due to all the meds that I'm on. But I dont think I believe that . The only oral meds I'm on are Nexium, Synthroid , Aquadeks & Creon . I do take ibuprofin maybe 1 time a day . I try to not take it every day but I have joint pain and some fever . I dont think inhaled meds would have a affect on my bladder.

Hey there. Bactrim can cause pretty nasty stomach-related side effects (I always have a a huge increase in my acid reflux) and it can also cause SOB and changes in your pulse. These are not good side effects.....you probably want to tell your doc about it ASAP, you may be sensitive to the medication or something else may be synergistically enhancing your dose (that happens a lot with stuff like cipro and theophiline). I have also gotten UTI's with Bactrim as well. Sometimes the cure is almost worse than the illness it is supposed to fix. Watch out for sun exposure and Bactrim, you can get a nasty burn very quickly, it can make you super-sensitive to sunlight. Call your doc, maybe there is a good alternative that wont mess with your system as much.
