Lauren- if you don't mind my asking, what were your symptoms when you had trouble with your gallbladder before you had it removed? I dont' understand-is it stones or what?
When I was like 17 they thought I had trouble with my gallbladder-I don't remember why. But nothing ever happened. So I'm not familiar with what the issue is. Just wondering.

I had me gallbladder out a little over ayear ago. I was lucky I only had to have two attacks. The pain felt almost like a when I get a bowel obstruction. It would start in the middle of my stomach right under my rib cage and radiate around to my right side in the backy. Nothing helped the pain, it hurt to move and even hurt to breathe. Luckly I had had kiddney stone about 4 years agoe and had a abdominal ulstrasound and the had seen the stones then. So I reminded them of theat and the did a blood work to see if my liver was working properly and another ulstrasound. Needless to say everything said that my gallbladder needed to come out.

yes galllbladder problems are inherant in CF - Read the CF Handbook to learn more about all the other bizarre problems that our defect causes.

Charlotte, Here are some posts that I wrote extensively about my gallbladder problem. Let me know if you have any add'l questions.

Well, Seana,
I was about to add my thoughts to Courtney's situation, but apparently everything seems under control for now.
So, I thought I'd just offer my comment to say, I'm glad you could find the one main purpose to this site, and can see the support that still exists here.
So, I hope Courtney gets better, soon. A lot of us can relate to having constant stomach aches for an enduring period.
Regard,
Fred

Kait was also having severe pain in her right side...thought it was her appendix but when we took her to clinic the next day, she was full of crap... she was crying and even called me at work to be home with her..that is odd. The doc gave her a prescription for Miralax and it did wonders. I only give it to her on days when she hasn't had a BM and her tummy hurts. By the way, she was having bowel movements when we went in to clinic but was still blocked.

Hope everything gets better soon.
