Hey!

I haven't had that experience at my clinic visits, but I wish it were written somewhere on the chart in BIG BOLD LETTERS that Abby is pancreatic sufficient. Every time a person comes in we are asked how's she's doing with her enzymes and I have to say that she's PS. It drives me nuts! As much time as we spend at clinic appointments, I would think that they would at least take the time to LOOK at the chart before they enter the room!!!

Enough clinic bashing this morning. I'm off to play with my 2 year old!

Hey Em!!
Is it really rare to have CF and be pancreatic sufficient? Because I agree Em, it often seems like everyone is treating us as if she is PI and I would think that it is an important distinction in terms of CF care.

I know I owe you an e-mail -- I've just been lazy in my moments of extra time, sorry!!! I'll get it out eventually, LOL!

Happy Saturday, Heather!

Based on what I've read on here and online, I think it is "rare" to be PS...and when you are dealing with a doctor that specializes in CF, but who's focus initially was gastroenterology, I think that plays a major factor in how the center deals with patients.

No problem. I completely understand. I've been busy launching my PR and Marketing business and taking care of Leah Orr and her book publicity. If I don't type at you often it is because it is crazy nuts here!

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend!!!

You know, I was always a peanut and "under weight" until I hit puberty. I haven't had a weight problem since.

My family - well, my dad and I (my mom is what I call a "doctor-lover")- have always used our Cf team as "consults," and prescription wirters, but we did a lot of stuff our own way - and for us, it worked. I can't suggest everyone do this, but in your case, if you know your daughter is small because of genetics, well....

I want to add that yes, if she gets ill, the extra weight will help - but, if she is healthy now, she may not get ill for a long time. I never got ill as a child and only started to culture PA at age 29 - so precautionary is good, but I think waiting for illness to strike is debilitating. Keep doing what you're doing and stay focused on her good health, kwim??
