Sinus Issues

I was just wondering when others noticed sinus problems occuring in their kids. Ben is 8 months and has always <u>aggresively </u>rubbed his nose into things, now he is also pulling at his ears. At our last cf clinic visit I asked and he said babies usually don't have sinus problems, they looked in his ears and said there was not an infection but that his eardrum was abnormal.(Dull) Then they didn't say anything else. I'm just curious because Ben is so aggresive about rubbing his nose into things. Should I request to go to an ENT doctor?

YES! You should request an ENT consult. My son with CF started presenting miserable around 11 months or so. He didn't want to eat, couldn't sleep well, just not right. His nose started constantly running at about 1 year old. For months, we tried Zyrtec, antibiotics and other stuff. At about 15 months he could hardly lift his head and was admitted. A CT scan showed HORRIBLE sinus disease. We were told they had never seen it so bad in someone so young. So it can start early. He had a PICC line for 4 weeks and extensive sinus surgery.

Since then (he is now 4) sinuses are still his major issue. He has had two more PICC lines and two more surgeries. We do daily adult rinses but they still present a problem....

YES! You should request an ENT consult. My son with CF started presenting miserable around 11 months or so. He didn't want to eat, couldn't sleep well, just not right. His nose started constantly running at about 1 year old. For months, we tried Zyrtec, antibiotics and other stuff. At about 15 months he could hardly lift his head and was admitted. A CT scan showed HORRIBLE sinus disease. We were told they had never seen it so bad in someone so young. So it can start early. He had a PICC line for 4 weeks and extensive sinus surgery.

Since then (he is now 4) sinuses are still his major issue. He has had two more PICC lines and two more surgeries. We do daily adult rinses but they still present a problem....

hello, I started having sinus problems when I was 14. I would def say go to a doctor. If u live in southern ca i could tell you a really good one. People on here might think im crazy for saying this but I cut dairy out of my diet because I was sick of having the polyp surgery so I was willing to try anything since I have already had 7 surgeries. I had one a year for 7 years. Now I have been polyp free for over 2 years. If you go to the doctor you should ask what he thinks about dairy and its role with the sinus.

People on here might think im crazy for saying this but I cut dairy out of my diet because I was sick of having the polyp surgery so I was willing to try anything since I have already had 7 surgeries. I had one a year for 7 years. Now I have been polyp free for over 2 years. If you go to the doctor you should ask what he thinks about dairy and its role with the sinus.
