Sinus Surgery

I have fully developed frontal sinuses. It bites. I just had my 16th surgery. Been to Mayo Clinic and everything. It's nothing but one huge problem. In the past 2 years I've had 4 of the surgeries. I have to admit that when I get them, I feel better. Problem is my body just works against me...all the time. 2 surgeries ago they removed the bone between the 2 openings of the frontal sinuses to create one larger opening hoping it would not close up as easily. It has been problematic to say the least but on the other hand I know it has helped. The one thing I can tell you for certain is that the surgery is so much easier than it used to be. My last one just 3 weeks ago I was home by 3:00 pm same day, didn't even nap got on the computer and did some work. Felt 10 times better than I did before I went in that morning.

I had it done 9 years ago. I didn't know I had CF at the time but I had been having chronic sinus infections for a few years and was fed up with it. Every doctor that looked up my nose said my septum looked fine so it took for me to insist on having a CT scan. Sure enough, my passages were so narrow they were nearly blocked on one side. I wasn't able to breathe through my nose very much at all before the surgery. My deviated septum was corrected and I had a turbinectomy. No polyps.

Since my sinus issues were so troublesome and not being able to breath through my nose was very uncomfortable, the surgery had a fantastic and lasting impact. It's one of the best things I've ever done for my health.
