I had one a few years back, but mine was from really bad sinus headachs. They went up through my nose and they drilled to holes in my forhead to get in to my upper sinus. The doctors were amazed at how bad mine was, they siad it was the first time they ever saw live active puss up there.

It took me about two weeks to really recover.

I had my first and only sinus surgery to date about 5 years ago. The reason my doctor recommended it was because of polyps, inflammation, and I literally had gallons of snot dripping out of my nose 24/7, regardless of the season or if I had a cold.
They basically go up through your nose with an endoscope, and depending what your exact problem is, will remove polyps and gunk. I know for me they also removed two bones from my sinuses to allow better drainage of all the snot, lol.
Many CF doctors will shy away from sinus surgery because often times once you have one it opens a can of worms and you will need them frequently. Honestly though, if you are in pain or your issues are really becoming bothersome, I'd say GO FOR IT! It's instant gratification, I could finally breathe through my nose. Good luck!!

Sinus surgery is nothing really.

I've been getting it every 1-3 years since birth, and I am almost 13 now. I just got it done about a month ago.

They put you to sleep and then do the surgery.
They'll put packing in your nose, and then later they'll pull it out and your nose will feel great.

You'll be able to breathe through your nose easily and it'll be way way way easier to breathe.

It doesn't hurt at all.

They may give you some stuff to spray up your nose for awhile to make it heal faster.

But usually once as I get out of the hospital the next morning I feel great!

I am not sure how long it'll work for,
it depends on each person.

If I were you, I'd get it.
You'll be glad you did, trust me. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
