I answered in the other post but wanted to say YES, we've used rhinocort aqua on our ds, starting at 3. We've also used nasonex on our dd starting at 2 (similiar drug). Our experience with rhinocort aqua was that it was a little on the weak side. DS now uses nasonex daily and has for I think 4 years? It's a nasal steroid spray used to treat allergies. The steroid suppresses the faulty immune response that occurs in an allergic reaction (allergies). IT also reduces inflammation and can therefore help some with shrinking swollen nasal turbinates, nasal/sinus tissue, and/or polyps. I'd give it a try. Like I said, it's one of the weaker nasal steroid sprays so should be mild enough for a 2 year old.

I've used FLonase, Nasonex, Rhinocort and Nasacort.

Personally I could tell NO difference in rhinocort and nasacort, did the same on both of them. Flonase gave me awful nose bleeds and I had to use a bigger dose( I can get away with 1 spray each side with rhinocort and nasacort once a day but Flonase required 2 sprays each side, 2 times a day). Nasonex was hands down the best for me

They work for allergic and non allergic sinus problems

I'm the first anon poster. Nasonex works well for my ds. For those times we need it stronger, we use it more frequently, more squirts. Usually, 1 squirt twice/day is enough, during summer, he can just do 1 squirt/day. We needed stronger but strongest isn't always best Especially in young children, in my opinion. Case in point, DD has to use eye drops during the spring/fall, in addition to her zyrtec, nasonex, singulair, and allergy shots. We usually use patanol 2-3 times daily during that time. We've also tried zatador and found it worked just as well. We still end up needing steroid eye drops for her at least one week/year. Optivar is a stronger eye drop. It has a much longer half life and works great. But it stings like crazy, DD hates it, and it wasn't worth the fight. Especially since most of the time, the weaker eye drop works great.

I do agree, Amy, flonase is icky. Both dh & I tried it and do not like it. Smells like flowers, YUCK.

Aria, I'd give the rhinocort aqua a chance. Personally, I think starting with a lower strength drug is best myself. No point in having the strongest if the weaker works fine for you Rhinocort Aqua has the same steroid as pulmicort respules or inhaler or symbicort.
