Thanks! Amy we just did an addition on our house and had a HEPA filter put in - I had him put in the best one (after reading about them on here) - so should that be good enough?

HEPA filter put in what? Do you have a stand alone air purifier or is the HEPA filter attached to your air conditioner?

My husband Chris has had major complications with nasal polyps due to his CF throughout his entire life - he just turned 30 and his last count was about 27 separate polypectomies in his lifetime. (a little less than 1 per year) Granted, they were pretty aggressive about them when he was a child PLUS he won the genetic lottery by also having a rare form of eye cancer at the age of 6 (totally unrelated to CF) - retinoblastoma, which is extremely fatal when not treated and therefore he lost his right eye and underwent extensive radiation treatment (now lives with a prosthetic right eye)... all that to say that perhaps his other complications and surgeries in the 'head region' further exacerbated his sinus issues.

Back to the point: he has found that regular use of Flonase + flushing with antibiotics such as TOBI when needed + regular use of a sinus cleansing system (SinuCleanse found at Walgreen's - looks like a mini teapot that you use to flush your sinuses) has helped reduce the frequency of his inflammations.

Hope this info helps you & your kiddos - best of luck to you!

I have a neti pot (the little tea pot) that I have used (and really should use more often, but I can't use the Baking Soda in it, so I have to mix the saline solution, and I tend to get lazy) . It is really easy to use, and only took me a few minutes to figure out how to get the hang of it . And you can buy individual sinus rinse packets to mix with your preboiled water that you just measure and mix each time- no solution storing necessary. I got mine at Walgreens a couple of years ago.

I have trouble with the nasal steriod sprays, too. After a few weeks, I am more stuffed up than before (?!?). But I can use them short term, which is okay right now, since I haven't had too many nasal polyps.

I had polyp surgery once when I was 11. I haven't had any problems with my sinuses since. I never used any of these methods, but hearing a couple of them has got me interested in trying one or two and see how it works. I hope that find something mentioned by the others that works well for you.
