I loved these when Ab was starting out with a sippy cup:

I know you can still get the Dazzler, but I don't know about the other (the clear one, which I really liked). But you can get into the spout to clean it with a bottle nipple brush (or the little brush on the end of the big bottle brush that they sell at Walmart in the baby section-it even comes clean in the dishwasher if it hasn't sat too long, lol!) The valve is a one piece silicone thing that is totally flexible and easy to clean. The bonus is, they leak very little and the top screws on nice and tight . I've got several of them that are still in good shape (a couple of teeth marks, lol) and a new 2 pack of valves if you want them- I was going to put them in the consignment sale next time .
I also liked the soft top Nuby, until Abigail got into the habit of chewing the top, and busted the slits in the opening. That was a bummer- those really were the easiest to clean, and relatively inexpensive ta boot.
Oh, and pipe cleaners are good to get up in those tiny little crevices in sippy cup spouts if you need to .
Whomever designed those valves that you can't open and clean should be, er, forced to drink out of one (that tastes like ancient milk or dishsoap)! lol
