I notice that with DS, even though he gets about 9 hours of sleep each night, it's not a restful sleep. In his case it's his sinuses. Sometimes he's able to breathe thru his nose, other times, not so much, so he'll snore, breathe heavily, thrash around. Supposed to go see an ENT in the coming months to see if it's polyps, inflammation... Tends to be worse during Tobi months.

Most of the time, I get more than 9 hours of sleep and still feel exhausted during the day. I'm currently seeing a sleep psychiatrist once a month. I might decide to do a sleep study soon. My CF doctors have suggested that the loss of energy is caused by all my medications and lack of physical exercise but I feel like there is more reason behind why I'm so tired all the time. Many nights of the week, I feel like I haven't slept at all (even though I'm in bed with my eyes closed) I'm alright as soon as I wake up but then a few hours later (2-3) I'm super tired. Then, when I do feel like I slept well enough, I wake up with a massive headache? Night sweats too sometimes where my back is almost soaked. So gross! I'm becoming very frustrated with this issue <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> I take xanax for anxiety and xanaflex for my muscle pain/tightness before bed. Those help me sleep at night but those are not for sleep reasons obviously.

Do you have to do a sleep study in order for the doctor to prescribe medication specifically for sleeping?

Icefisherman your not the only one there! Many mornings i wake up and i cough so much that i end up throwing! But after that i feel ok! It feels like both my lungs and stomach are free from all the bad stuff. I feel instantly better! But anyhow this is not a nice way to start your day!
