Just wondering if everyone wakes up at night coughing? I have just started taking Tobi, i also take xopenex and pulmozyme. So last night i woke up at about 1:30 coughing my head off. My husband had to go sleep in the guest bedroom cuz i couldnt stop! I coughed none stop for an hour and ended up puking i was coughing so hard. What is going on??? Please help me! I want to be able to have a good night sleep and not have to have my husband get up and switch beds <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> i have also started itraconzole for some fungus growing WILD in my lungs wondering if thats what is causing this or is it my tobi? Please HELP!!!

Oh that's happened to me. Especially if I miss a couple treatments and then do a night time treatment-- I bring all this stuff up and I just cough all night.
As for as why...I'm not sure if it had to do with any certain meds I was taking, at least not for me.

I find that when my asthma is flaring up-that's when I have the early morning coughing fits. For my really reactive airways, when I get into those spasms it is really hard to get things calmed down.

Teri, were you able to do any puffs? Did that help ease things a little?

Sometimes antibiotics can exacerbate fungal infections. Was the fungus heavy growth? What about the pseudo? I would talk to your doc, pronto.

If you don't normally have this reaction with Tobi then it can definitely be the fungus going haywire. And, most likely, you also have an allergic component as well. CF patients, especially if they have been on antibiotics frequently, become very allergic to molds iand fungus. If you get headaches and sinus pressure when it turns humid, you are allergic to molds/fungus. If you can get the fungus under control, some of this will lessen...including the cough.

Did they get an IgE?
