My computer used to be terribly slow, but a friend of mine at my job is going to school to be a computer programmer and told me about a few totally free programs to clean and speed up your pc:

Defaggler: It takes quite a while, especially if you have alot of junk on your pc, but it's alot better and more efficient than window's default fragmenter. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.piriform.com/defraggler
">http://www.piriform.com/defraggler
</a>
CCleaner: Formerly called Crap Cleaner. Minimizes all files and cleans your registry. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

</a>
Advanced System Care: Cleans and sweeps for spyware, malware, and defrags. <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html">http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html</a>

I got a few more tricks to ensure that you have a good experience computing. This first one is a tutorial on how to make Godzilla Firfefox web browser much, much faster. This trick greatly reduces the amount of info your pc needs to go through to enter a web page. I use this myself, and I can attest that it is an excellent trick.

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cC37BoR2mY&feature=related
">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...oR2mY&feature=related
</a>
I. Explorer is the default browser for all pcs, and is generally slower. Firefox contains built in pop up blockers,you can personalize the themes, and it saves passwords.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> Plus, with that trick above, it enables it to be the fastest web browser available. Google Chrome is a good one, although there is no status bar on the bottom, which I like to see the how the page is loading. Opera is another good one. But I have tried them all, and firefox leaves them all in the dust!

I found a few totally free antispyware and antivirus programs. I have used the second one, I can say it's a pretty good one. They both work in the background to make your web experience an awesome one.

<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html

</a>
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
">http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
</a>
And this is also a free registry cleaner, which I have used in the past and it's very effective:
<a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://download.cnet.com/Abexo-Free-Registry-Cleaner/3000-2094_4-10434887.html

</a>
If anyone knows any other computing tips, please utilize this thread to introduce them.

I neglected to mention that I use an internet booster that I found a few months ago. It really, truly helps your web pages load a lot quicker. You notice a difference ASAP as soon as you hit the "Boost" button. If you choose to utilize this feature, you can only use the boost feature, as pro-boost promises faster internet, but at a pr$ce. For a totally free feature, you can't really beat it. I've been using it for a few months and I have had zero problems with it, I definitely recommend it.
