Thank you guys so much. I did speak to my pediatrition and found a center in my area that works with kids 0-5 that are at high risk for developmental delays. Logan has an appointment next week.
I think I just had a bit of a flip out moment last week when they told me he was slow. My only thought was that we were finally learning to cope with the cf issue and now this. Selfish I know, but I'm over it now and we will get through this just like everything else. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
Thanks!

Grr, we had a social worker try to tell us DS was slow because he wasn't crawling. Crawling is NOT considered a milestone for how children are tracking. It's not mentioned in any baby books anymore. My cousins two sons never ever crawled -- went straight to walking.

DS we figured didn't crawl because he spent the first two months of life on his back and didn't get much tummy time because he was recovering from bowel obstruction surgery. And he didn't walk until he was over a year old, but we didn't consider him to be developing slower by any means. If anything, I think CFers are pretty sharp. Some of the things DS says and does amazes me.

I never crawled. I went straight to walking. My friend's daughter didn't start crawling till she was almost 1, and she's developmentally and physically normal. Some kids just take their time and there is NOTHING wrong with it. I wouldn't worry at all.

Don't worry about it.. If you ARE worried, I believe you can have your child tested. In our area it's handled by the county and it's called the right track. They send someone out to test them. We opted not to do so because other than the crawling issue, DS was doing fine. Sitting up by himself, babbling by age 6 months...</end quote></div>

Hi I was reading your post and I have a little boy that was dx at birth and he stayed in the hopital for 10 days. When he came home he had a colostmy bag (due to a bowl blockage) then about a month and a half later he had it repaired. After that I had to do alot of physical therapy on him. He had a hard time turning his head to the left and he didn't like to lay on his tummy. I also thought he would be delayed however I am very lucky he is 5 mos old and he is rolling over and trying to sit up on his own and he is very busy for a 5 mos old. He does have a 3 year old sister that doesn't like for him to sleep or lay on the floor so he is pretty busy. Don't worry your baby will be fine, and when he is ready he will be on his way. Physical therapy really worked for us. It helped his alot. And he is also very vocal. He does new things all the time. I was very worried also. Hope this helps you. Take care.

I have cystic fibrosis and I was not treated till I was 16! I was told that I had autism becuase I was a slow child. now that I am on enzymes my dd's have gone alway. I think this was due to not getting that food to my brain becuase of not having enzymes to help.

Also my tubefeeding has helped allot with theres issues.

Thanks
