SO congested

I didn't really have issues with my first pregnancy, but this time around I'm so congested - I literally cough non-stop day and night. The cough is productive (it's not a sick cough) but it's like the mucus is never ending. I'm on tobi, pulmo., hypersal, albuterol (all twice daily).

Has anyone else had this problem? Are there foods I can eat to slow down mucus production?

I'm kind of like you in that my first pregnancy was a breeze cf wise (besides a BAD case of the flu in my 6th month). But my 2nd preg has been very challenging.
Its so important for you to get enough calories, and enough protein, but maybe you are eating too much dairy? That can definitely increase mucus production for some people.
I'd also just try to get as much mucus out in natural ways as you can. Try a steam vaporizer, run humidifiers in each room of the house. And drink TONS of liquid!!
Try to avoid germs and crowds more than you normally would too. You may just have more mucus bc of some hormonal reason, but you don't want bacteria/viruses settling into that stuff.
Hang in there. I know its hard.

Certain foods and liquids can definitely increase mucus production. Google to find the whole list.

Avoid dairy products completely if possible. Substitute whatever you would typically gain from having dairy products with other foods, nutritional supplements, vitamins, you name it. Dairy definitely increases mucus.

Drink TONS of fluids- google the fluids that increase mucus production and avoid those. I know my usual drink of choice is diluted powerade- diluted because full powered powerade causes excess mucus production for me.

Do you have seasonal allergies? I become super congested without allergy meds during allergy season. Find out if you do, that might be what's making things worse lately for you.

Feel better and may your pregnancy progress smoothly and easily with excellent health for you and your little bean!
