Kait goes to Columubus Childrens Hospital. The nurses are great and have been around for as long as we have been there. Kait loves her nurses and respitory therapist. Dr. Karen McCoy is an amazing Dr. that truely cares about her patients. I agree with infection control, i also like the fact that everyone wears a mask. The staff are great and seem to really be on top of things and care for their patients.
I encourage you to visit the hospital website and check out the doctors

I personally don't care for Dr. Joseph... she's incredibly overworked and when you're sick it's hard to get ahold of her. I'm not going to sit here and bash her, but we've had several times where things haven't worked with her. Cincinnati Children's is where I went until I was 21 and they are fabulous! Dr. Chini was my peds doc, Dr. Acton is amazing as well... in fact, I don't think you could really go wrong with the docs at children's. When it's time to transition though, I recommend Dr. Bruce Trapnell. He works at University hospital in Cincinnati and is easy to get ahold of when you need someone (you don't have to go through the call service which is nice when you're really sick) Best of luck with the move to southern Ohio... I love it here <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Thanks everyone! If we end up moving there it sounds like we have some good leads. Now we just have to find a place to rent! That's the hard part...Thanks, Kelly

My son goes to the Columbus Children's Hospital Clinic. We have been to clinics in Las Vegas and Anchorage, so I know how scarry changing clinics can be. Dr. McCoy, Dr. Shell, and the others docs in Columbus are amazing and the other clinics we went to were good, but nothing has felt so comfortable and on point as Columbus. Chas was diagnosed at 3 mos in Columbus. We moved to Vegas when he was 4, Alaska at 6, and back to Columbus last year. I asked lots of questions at each new clinic. I also carry a file holder with all his records to each appointment. That has helped with his treatment between clinics, and it always is a reference for me and docs just in case. Like I said, Columbus has been our favorite. It seems they are so involved with research and have so many resources that the other two clinics did not have even though the docs were good. I have really apprecited the social worker because she has helped us with getting chas BCMH (Bureau for Children with Medical Handicapps). This program helps as secondary (or primary if you need it) insurance. I have always made too much money for any help, but BCMH is so helpful for additional insurance. Making "too much" money for any other program made it difficult for me finacially to alwyas keep up with meds, but BCMH now covers copays and helped us get the VEST. Hope all works out...blessings on your move.
