Well, My son no CF is getting over strep throat, he was pretty sick sore throat bad tummy aches, nausea, fever. Our pediatrician, who is alway looking out for Maggie, let me know to watch out for tummy upset which is usually what younger kids complain about when they have strep. So that doesn't really help because Maggie complains about her tummy from CF stuff.Arg. Last night Maggie puked all over the couch, on me, the rug, herself, still smells like puke in our living room. She also had a huge poop earlier, I really think her enzymes need to be adjusted. She also complained of a sore throat, hmmm. She has a little runny nose. So she's home from school, She has NO FEVER. I gave her a little milk of mag, in case she's backed up. So, not sure called the pediatrician nurse, she wasn't sure, could wait a few hours today to see if she needs to get a strep screen. Seems wierd to have strep to me with NO FEVER, could be a coincidence. Sore throat could be from her cold/throwing up. I looked inside her throat and it looks fine. So, I hate to bring her in for a strep screen if not needed. I'll wait and if she still not herslf bring her in tomorrow. Anyway, she drinking ginger ale, ate pretzels and asked for BEEF JERKY for breakfast and ate it. Seems like if your thriat hurt how could you eat beef jerky? Anyway, that's my story. Just home and worried.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

They are funny little creatures, aren't they? As CF moms I think we are always trying to put the puzzle pieces of symptoms together to figure out if it's CF related or an everyday illness. Good luck and I hope tomorrow is a much better day!

I feel your pain. My youngest has strep right now. It took him 4 days to finally start running a fever, but his throat was scratchy and his tummy was upset from the start. Jordan is now complaining of a bit of a sore throat. I'm hoping it's just drainage. It's always a gamble whether to take them in or not. I don't want him on meds if he can kick it himself, but I don't want it to get a good hold on him before we start meds either. Ugh! I hope Maggie feels better soon.

Strep throat is a strange animal. I remember taking Katy in for her two year well-child visit (this was prior to CF diagnosis). On the way, she threw up in the car, which was not a typical thing to happen. No fever and nothing else to indicate anything was wrong. I mentioned it to the doc. He immediately did a strep test and what do you know? Went in for a well-child visit and came out with strep throat.

I do hope little Maggie feels better soon! What a cutie-pie she must be - beef jerky for breakfast, LOL!
