sputum color

I have a question for you all.
Does sputum color have any indication of anything? By that I mean different bugs? Do different bugs make the sputum different colors?

I noticed this morning that I feel like I have a cold <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> !!! When I cough I have very thin rusty color sputum, which I have never had before.
I normally have probs with hemoptysis but this looks different than that.

Any ideas????

I think so. I know that there was a thread here recently about coughing up something that looked like blue lint. I think it turned out it was some nasty mold bug. I know lightNlife knew about it and someone else too. Also, I know my doctor has always asked what color my kid's drainage and sputum is. I don't know specifically about the rust color you are describing, but I'm betting someone here will. I just wanted to let you know I think the color does mean something. I hope you get it figured out and under control soon.
