Staphylococcus (staph for short) is staph no matter what the infection with staph, but there are also different species of staph that cause different types of infections. Your friend probably doesn't know the species - they don't usually go all the way to species within a lab at a hospital/dr's office (genus would be the staphylococcus). I wouldn't tell you not to be cautious, but chances of you developing a lung infection from her leg wound is less likely. Just practice better handwashing for yourself while you are around her. Also, don't lick her leg or anything. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">
