Starting Marinol

Hello, just curious if anyone has experiences with this med and if its helped them put on weight? I've tried Megace and though it worked for a while, it has ceased to work for me and I stop having a period, which I don't like...

I've also used Remeron in a very low dose and it just put me to sleep for a very very long time.

I know some have also mentioned another med that is an old-school antihistamine, but for now i wanted to try Marinol since I know some people with chemo have become ravenous on it.

Any experiences? And, does this make you super duper tired? I want to be able to be coherant, especially since I'm to take it twice a day.

I've never tried this, but I've gotten some conflicting advice. Some suggest it, others don't. I've heard that its effects are kind of intense, especially for petite people who are not cannabis users, but I don't know anything from personal experience. Sorry!

Thanks, Sadie.

From what I've read, usually the appetite stimulant part gets more intense the longer you use it... For example, it may not work for a few weeks, but then your appetite increases every week afterward. I've also read the "goofy" feeling is only noticable (if at all) for the first several doses, but then it wears off. This is what various drug info. sites have said and the DEA website.

I just hope there have been other CFers and not just me who are still being Rx'd this. I like to know what others experience when it comes to therapies and meds.
