Sterilizing Spacer and mask??

I'm really bad with sterilizing the mask and spacer my kids use to take their albuterol with - it's not the nebulizer kind, it's the kind that you press and it puffs a dose of medicine into the chamber. Can anyone tell me how they sterilize them? From what I remmeber, they told me that there are certain parts that can't be immersed in water, and certain parts can't be boiled...I can't remember! Any advice will help...

One of them is yellow with bears on it and the mask covers over the nose.

The other is blue, and doesn't have a mask, it just goes into my daughter's mouth.

I soak ours in hot soapy water for 30 min. I dont know if that is the proper way though. I do it about every four or five days. Should probably do it more than that but I dont know.

My son uses the aerochamber (yellow with bears). I tried boiling and it melted - now I just take off the end cap and unscrew the mask end then wash all the parts with soapy water as best I can at the end of the day and rinse it with sterile (boiled) water then dry it.

I have them soaking in soapy water now - thanks for the responses. For some reason I thought that certain parts of it couldn't get wet, but I guess not - does washing them in soapy water actually sterilize them, or do you have to do something different?
