Thank you to all of you that replyed to me. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
I asked my consultant about Zolair when I came across it last year on the web. My consultant said "No" that there was not enough details of all the side effects listed for this drug. He didn't know how my CF would react up and that it had been given to Asthmatic patients only.

My consultant is the old school, clinic type. Stuck in his old ways. He dosen't even approve of the vest such.

If I could change consultant I would. He is rated top Cystic Fibrosis specialist.

I did read on the links Nicole thank you and Lillian must be one next month.
But it does not make my decision easier. I mean should I wait a month or two months before steroids out of my system before commencing of Ivf. I reckon I will have to chat with OB consultant again.

Keepercjr, Thanks for your advise and your son is so soo cute!!.

I will look into the magnesuim. My Asthma is always undercontrol except my Ige's went very high last year and there was concern. I wasn't even unwell. I do believe I will be off my prednisone next month.
I am suppose to start IVf Nov and therefore I'm not sure it is safe to go straight into IVF. And none of my doctors will tell me it is safe to do so. They are leaving it up to me. That is causing me stress and worry.

My meds that I am on is Hypertonic saline, Sertide inhaler, Ventoiln inhalers, Taurolin neb. And prendisone 5mg-4mg day to day for another 3 weeks.
I ve been taking off everything else.

Paulina-Oh if you will be off the meds than I would not worry at all about a 'waiting period'.

Just to mention I am having what I eblieve are fab results with xolair so maybe soon more CF docs will get on board but in the mean time it is very new so no data in pregnancy really, it is a class B though which is pretty good. Truly there isnt any info in BF either but I consulted LC and we thought pretty minimal risk, very similar to an allergy shot.

Hi Nicole,<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I got an email from the genetics I saw back in 2005 on my charity walk to in Boston. He has been in contact with me since April 07 I am very pleased to add. I can email him and couldn't email my own Consultant and probably would not get a reply. I am soo well but the Iges are around 679 I reckon by next week they will be down to 400. I don't want to mention much on the IVF treatment I will PM over the weekend. There is so much happening. Give my best to J and hi to Lillian.

I have heared great results about xolair N that AstHmatic patients have been given that suffer ABPA and I want it desperately. I don't think I could have it now while on the road to getting pregnant. Anyway talk soon hun.

Opeartion success but the pain of it and nausea only left me today eight daysLATER. I knOw I swalloed a lot of blood. With Ent tomorrow. Talk soon.

I envy your ige #s! Mine have been over 5000 before. I think the last time they checked (a few months ago) they were 3000 something. They've diagnosed ABPA based on my ige and that I'm sensitive to aspergillus though I haven't cultured it in probably 10 years. I had allergy testing about 5 years ago and showed an allergic reaction to every single thing they tested - but I don't have seasonal allergies at all. my main symptom of the ABPA is terrible asthma that is only controlled with 500/50 of ADVAIR and zithromax. If I need to use my rescue inhaler more than once in a while I know my asthma is getting out of control. I'd say that asthma is the worst part of CF for me. If I didn't have this asthmatic component I would probably feel completely normal other than the daily cough.

I'll have to ask about xolair at my appointment next month.
